This is a reading site about free and conditionally free things to do in Manchester. The pages are plain pages: no accounts, no logins, no comment boxes, no forms of any kind, and nothing is sold or paid for here. A typical visit looks like this. You read about the free galleries in the city centre, or the canal towpaths at Castlefield, and then you either leave or follow a link out. That is the whole shape of a visit.

What Gets Counted Here

This site collects the minimum needed to see whether its pages work. The analytics tool runs on totals: pages opened, an approximate country, the type of device, and which links to a GuruWalk walk were followed. Those clicks matter most, because they show that a page about a free Manchester walk actually led a reader to a guide. No names, no email addresses, no payment cards, no travel documents. Nothing on the site collects them, because no page ever asks.

• No sign-up, no login, no password. Nothing here ever asks who you are.
• No booking happens here. A place on any walk is reserved through the guide's own GuruWalk page, whether that is the Free Manchester Walking Tours slot or Michael's Radical Manchester walk, and the confirmation email arrives from that platform, so no reservation detail ever reaches this site.
• There is no signup form, no comment box, no newsletter field anywhere on this site. The contact page simply opens your own email program, so any message leaves your machine directly and never passes through a server this site runs.

Hosting

This site runs on a third-party host, the way nearly every website does. That host keeps standard server logs, IP addresses included, as ordinary security practice. The logs exist to keep the site online and to protect it from abuse. No one looks through them to work out who read which page, and no attempt is made to tie an address to the walks a visitor compares or the museums they look up.

Your Choices

Visitors stay in control. Blocking the analytics script, whether through a tracker blocker or a browser setting, changes nothing: every page reads the same and every walk is described in full. Turning off JavaScript costs only the mobile menu.
